Admiral Ulysses S. Grant Sharp was born in 1906 and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1927. He attended the Naval War College in 1950. John Harold Sides was born April 22, 1904, in Roslyn, Washington. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1925, and advanced to the rank of admiral in 1960.
